Beijing - The International Exhibition for the Aged will be held in Dalian City (China) from Oct.22 to Oct. 25. The exhibition will show medical appliances, health protection products, food, medicines, travel and leisure items aimed at the ageing community as well as the protection of the larger community. All of these are specifically for the middle-aged and the aged.

北京 - 專門展示交易中老年專用器材用具﹑醫療康復器材﹑保健品﹑營養品﹑藥品等各類老人用品﹐以及旅游休閑用品﹑老年公寓﹑智能住宅﹑社區保障等的２００４年中國（大連）國際老人用品博覽會將于１０月２２日至２５日舉辦。

由中國老齡協會﹑大連市人民政府共同主辦的這次博覽會經過一年多的策劃和准備﹐目前籌備工作進展順利﹐吸引不少國內外企業踴躍參與。現在已有來自美國﹑日本﹑韓國﹑德國﹑芬蘭等國家的４０多家企業報名參展。除展示各類老年產品外﹐組委會還將組織中國國際銀發產業論壇。

中國老齡協會會長李本公介紹﹐目前我國是世界上老年人口最多的國家﹐到２００４年已達到１﹒３４億。作為日益龐大的社會群體﹐老年人購買力總和也相當可觀。據中國老齡科學研究中心的一項調查﹐城市老人中有４２﹒８％的人擁有儲藏存款。

"但與發達國家相比﹐我國老齡產業只能說是剛剛起步。"李本公說﹐目前我國老齡商品主要以老年保健營養品為主﹐其他老年人專用品開發得很少。無論是老年服務和老年產品﹐還是養老機構和老年服務設施﹐都有待產業化。
