China: Temporary Elder Care Services Emerge in GuangZhou

GuangZhou, China-- Recently, temporary elder care services have started to pop up in many elder care centers in GuangZhou. The service provides many conveniences and has received positive responses from family members. The service is very helpful to family members when they want to travel on vacation or business trips. The centers also give families and their elder parents a respite when periodic tensions arise.

近來廣州不少養老院悄然興起了一種“臨時托老服務”，該服務為大批老年“流動人口”及其家屬提供了方便，受到人們的歡迎。短期入住老人院的老人中多數是因為家人外出旅遊或公幹﹐不過還有一類是和家人產生矛盾，外出消氣的。

廣州 - 近來廣州不少養老院悄然興起了一種“臨時托老服務”，該服務為大批老年“流動人口”及其家屬提供了方便，受到人們的歡迎。

在廣州工作的胡姓夫婦每年都有夏天出遊的計劃。但把７０多歲的老母親獨自留在家中又不放心，夫妻倆的旅遊計劃一再推遲。胡先生獲悉市內不少養老院開展了臨時托老服務，便帶母親來到廣州壽星大廈，老人家對這裡面的服務和環境都很滿意。於是胡先生把老母親臨時托養在此，攜妻兒去北京玩了１０多天。

據廣州市壽星大廈的負責人介紹，目前該大廈有２０多位老人是因子女外出旅遊或公幹而暫住於此。家屬們都認為這種臨時托養服務解決了他們的燃眉之急。

除了外出旅遊臨時托養外，短期入住老人院的老人中還有一類是和家人產生矛盾，外出消氣的。上個月，鄧姨在和兒媳一場口角之後決定“離家出走”，住進了附近的一家養老院。兩個星期後，兒子帶著滿臉悔意的兒媳前來向鄧姨認錯，把鄧姨接回家。
