Irish Neglect Retirement Plans

UTV

Ireland

June 28, 2004

Irish people are not making enough provisions for their future

New research reveals extremely low pension coverage levels, with almost a third not having given any thought to their main source of income in retirement.

A further 30% are planning to rely on state pension, although a majority believe it won't be enough to survive on.

Bank of Ireland Life is suggesting less cumbersome requirements around the PRSA sales process and greater awareness of the need to plan for retirement as major steps in the right direction.
