Ha Noi to Host Asia-Pacific Regional Conference 
on Elderly People

Ha Noi will host the Asia-Pacific regional conference on the elderly, which is scheduled to take place from Nov. 2-5, the Viet Nam Elderly Association Central Committee said on Monday.

There will be 64 delegates from 45 organisations for the elderly from 22 countries and territories in the region to participate in the event.

The conference will share experiences in the care of the elderly and discuss how to tap the elderly population's potential in poverty reduction, HIV/AIDS prevention and natural disaster control.

The current situation for the elderly in regional countries, the aging process in world population and measures to raise income for the elderly as well as the gender issue will also be on the agenda of the conference.
