Pensions to Be Differentiated

RUSTAVI 2

Georgia

June 8, 2006

'Pensions will be differentiated from September 2006,' Tbilisi mayor Gigi Ugulava has announced, 'People will get pensions according to their work history'.

The mayor attended the opening of a new service center of the People's Bank, which is authorized to dispense pensions. The bank has opened few other service centers in Tbilisi after the reproach of the president, who slammed the bank management after viewing long rows of pensioners at the People's Bank. Saakashvili gave a month deadline to the bank to improve its work.
People's Bank plans to open over 40 service centers and cash machines in Tbilisi which will serve only pensioners.

Tbilisi mayor's office supports the People's Bank in this process.
