Hunger Strike at Home for the Elderly

The residents at a home for the elderly in southeastern Sweden were so upset with the quality of the food that they started a hunger strike.

One woman told the local newspaper “Västerviks-Tidningen” that she had lived through both World War One and World War Two, but she had never experienced such poor food.

Reportedly the strike worked, and not only are the meals better, the old folks are now also treated to waffles as a special bonus a couple of times a week.

The personnel at the home have declined to comment.
