An Internship Experience at Global Action on Aging, New York City

By Magali Girod, intern 2003-2004

I spent nine months in New York City, interning at Global Action on Aging.

During this period, I had time to visit, discover and love the city. I took many pictures of my favorite places and moments.

Here are a couple of pictures that I am glad to share with you.

When I arrived, summer was over and autumn was starting. I went to Central Park and was amazed by the mixture of color.

Bow Bridge is one of my favorite places in Central Park, especially when autumn offers us its marvelous colors.

Sunset from Brooklyn Bridge in November 2003.

During the month of December, I loved to go under the Christmas Tree at Rockefeller Center, just to feel Christmas coming.

After the snow storm in late February, I enjoyed walking in Central Park. I took a picture of Belvedere Castle under a blue and bright sky.

Sunset on Ellis Island, from Battery Park. It was very cold that evening but the sunset was so wonderful that I stayed until the end.

Brooklyn Bridge at dusk.

Manhattan at dusk from Brooklyn Bridge. You can see the Empire State building on the left hand side and the Chrysler building on the right.

Spring finally came after our long and cold winter. The Lake and the lawn seemed to be the best places for people to rest and enjoy the sunshine.

Bow Bridge and the Lake.

I hope you enjoyed my pictures!
