The Euro is the legal Spanish currency. Many banks offer currency change services. The Spanish Committee would recommend though to change currency at any main office or at the American Express office in Madrid situated in Plaza de las Cortes, 2. (Metro Banco Espaņa). Banks are open from Monday to Friday from 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. but it is possible to change currency at the airports and most hotels. International credit cards are accepted in Madrid.
Continental and dry are the climatic features in Madrid. Winters are moderately cold and Summer hot. Spring and Fall are the most pleasant seasons. Winter average temperatures fluctuate between 0ēC and 11ēC / 32-51ēF, with blue and sunny sky, while Summer temperature range between 16ēC and 31ēC/ 60,8-87,80ēF.
Madrid offers many opportunities for shopping. Shops are generally open from Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. and from 4.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. although malls and major shops remain open from 10.00 a.m. till 10 p.m.
